The digital revolution is leading to changes in the production and value creation process. For SME, this represents a real challenge.
Current manufacturing management systems are too costly, inflexible and have to be implemented entirely. The standards, technology maturity, robustness, opportunities and benefits as well as the follow-up costs of Industry 4.0 technologies are not transparent for companies. An optimal solution should facilitate on-demand networking and tracking for custom orders, allowing machines and systems to be rapidly linked up. It sholud also be a cost-effective solution which does not disrupt existing production processes and offers a simplified Industry 4.0 technology transition.
The objective of our »Industry 4.0 suitcase« is to connect machines and systems quickly and ad hoc for order-specific scheduling and to be able to track special orders. The »Industry 4.0 suitcase« is the perfect way to add Industry 4.0 capabilities to existing systems. It is easy to install and can be used to prototype networked systems, making it an inexpensive and low-risk way to get started with Industry 4.0.
The suitcase contains everything you need to use order-related cyber-physical systems for flexible tracking of individual orders. It is equipped with sensors, network technology and mobile terminals. It is an inexpensive solution that doesn't affect the customer's production and provides a low-cost, low-risk entry into Industry 4.0.
