Model-based Systems Engineering and Artificial Intelligence

The increasing digitalization and the introduction of smart services poses new challenges for many companies. Their products are becoming increasingly complex, with software playing a larger part in development and production. They have to provide a higher degree of networking for their machines and systems. At the same time, coordinating between experts from different disciplines is becoming more important than ever. To ensure that companies can develop and manufacture products efficiently and smoothly, they need to integrate all systems involved in a comprehensive manner. Model-based approaches such as Model-based Systems Engineering, or MBSE for short, support multidisciplinary development projects and help to simulate and validate complex processes and products at an early stage using cross-domain functional modeling.

Keynote speakers:

  • J. Robert Wirthlin − Senior Technical Leader at Ford Motor Company
  • Andreas Korff − MBSE Pre-Sales Director at Parametric Technology GmbH

With the MBSE Buzz Session workshop series we will explore and discuss current topics in Model-based Systems Engineering. In this installment we will discuss the application of Artificial Intelligence in the context of MBSE. The workshop will feature presentations by industry leaders, opportunities for Q&A's and short breakout sessions for active participation in between. We recommend this English language format to industry leaders and systems engineers as well as researchers and engineering educators. As an independent non-university research institution we at Fraunhofer IPK are excited to bring together international participants across all industries and academia.
